About this jacket

The front of this burgundy leather Harrington jacket is left completely plain, with no pocket flaps or seaming to break it up. Open it and the ticking stripe lining does the talking. The hem finishes straight across instead of gathering into a rib, so the size XL body hangs clean over a jumper.

It came in the way everything here does, bought as a single piece and then professionally cleaned and conditioned. It is measured, graded, photographed, packed and posted from Doncaster, and the grade is set by a person who has handled several hundred of these. Flat measurements are listed further down, and we would rather you laid them against a jacket you already own than guessed.

Graded Very Good. That means it arrives as a finished garment rather than a project, carrying the softening you would expect from age. Any mark still on the leather has been photographed rather than described around.

There is one of these and no second. Sizes cannot be reordered and shades cannot be matched, so when the XL goes the listing goes dark for good.

Returns

You have 14 days from the day your order arrives to let us know you want to return it, and 14 more days to send it back. The jacket must come back unworn and in the same condition, with any tags still attached.

Return postage is paid by the buyer unless the item was faulty or wrongly supplied. Once it reaches us and passes a quick check, we refund to your original payment method.

What happened before this was listed

  1. Sourced Bought as a single garment from an estate sale, dealer or private seller, chosen for the condition of the hide rather than the label in the collar.
  2. Cleaned Deep cleaned and conditioned so the leather moves again, without stripping the colour it has settled into.
  3. Repaired Where stitching, hardware or a lining needed work, it was put right before listing: seams restitched by hand, hardware replaced like for like, linings repaired or renewed.
  4. Graded Inspected panel by panel and graded honestly. Anything beyond normal vintage wear is written into the listing.
  5. Photographed Shot under consistent light. The photographs form part of the description, so what you see is what will arrive.
