Burgundy Leather Harrington Jacket, Snap Hem Tab

Press-stud adjuster tabs sit at each hem side of this burgundy leather harrington jacket, so the bottom edge can be snapped in close over the hips or left square and loose. There is no knitted rib anywhere on it, which means the hem holds whatever line the studs are set to rather than gripping on its own.

Collar is a pointed shirt shape, flat enough to sit under a coat and sharp enough to wear open on its own. A straight zip runs up the centre front and tucks behind a leather placket, so the closed front reads as one clean line instead of a row of teeth. Two welt pockets are set on the slant at hip height, the back waist is elasticated for movement across the seat, the cuffs finish with no knit at all, and the body is lined throughout in gold satin.

It was cleaned down before listing, then at our Doncaster office the zip was run end to end and every stud pressed to check it still bites. Size on this one is XL, though bodies differ and older cuts differ more, which is why the flat measurements are set out separately beside the photographs. Lay out a jacket you already like the fit of, measure it the same way across chest, sleeve and length, then compare before you commit.

Hide is sound, with no tears, holes or splits anywhere. Wear is real and worth stating plainly: creasing has gone soft across the chest, waist and sleeves, and the colour has rubbed back to a darker burnish along the front placket, the shoulder seams, the sleeve folds and the hem edge, which leaves a patchy two-tone finish rather than an even one. Zip, hem press studs and side adjuster tabs are all present. The gold satin lining is creased but looks clean, with the collar label and the internal pocket label both still attached.
