Burgundy Leather Harrington Jacket, Chest Yoke Seam

A horizontal yoke seam cuts straight across the chest of this burgundy leather harrington jacket and picks up again across the back, breaking the panels high on the body so the shoulders hold a defined line and the leather below them falls clean to the hem.

Fastening is a straight centre zip running the full length of the front, finished at the neck with a pointed shirt collar rather than a stand or a ribbed band. Hip pockets are vertical welts, set in so the front stays uninterrupted. No knitted rib appears anywhere on the garment: the hem closes with a plain straight band and the cuffs are plain leather to match. Lining is an olive-bronze satin through the body and sleeves.

It was cleaned and conditioned before listing, then checked over seam by seam at our Doncaster office, with the zip run end to end more than once to confirm it engages along its whole travel. Flat measurements are set out in their own panel rather than buried in this paragraph, and they are what to go by: it is listed as a size L, but holding the chest, waist, shoulder, sleeve and length figures against something already hanging in your wardrobe will tell you far more than a letter can.

Creasing is heavy through the hide and worth stating plainly. The left front panel carries the most of it, with more running through the lower body and down both sleeves, the pattern that comes from a coat kept folded for a long stretch. Shoulders and the front edge have rubbed to a soft sheen. Beyond that the frames show nothing: no tears, no cracking, no scuffs, no colour loss, satin unstained with no separation at the seams, and both the neck label and the red woven label inside the front edge still present and legible.

Stock here is one garment and one only. When it sells this page goes dark, and a second-hand piece in the same size, cut and condition is not something we can order in again.
