Burgundy Leather Field Jacket, Triple Clasp Front

Three antiqued hook-and-eye clasps run down the front of this burgundy leather field jacket, sitting over a full-length zip so the closure works in two layers rather than one.

Above them a tall stand collar fastens with a snap tab. A zipped chest pocket is set into the yoke seam, and at the hip sit twin flap patch pockets, each with a zipped side entry for getting a hand in without lifting the flap. Cuffs are plain leather with no knitted rib anywhere on the garment, the hem finishes in a flat topstitched band, and the inside is lined in tan.

The hide was professionally cleaned and conditioned before listing, then at our Doncaster office we ran the zip and all three clasps to confirm they travel and hold. Flat measurements are listed separately on this page rather than buried down here in the description. It is a size M, and holding those figures against a coat already in your wardrobe will tell you far more than the letter on its own.

Wear here is creasing, not damage. Heavy soft folds run through the body, the elbows and the lower back, and the raised ridges of those folds have rubbed a shade lighter and drier than the oxblood around them, leaving a matte surface instead of a glossy one. No cracks, splits, holes or repairs show anywhere in the hide. Metal carries a light tarnish across the clasps, zip and pocket studs, all of which are present. Tan lining is intact and unmarked apart from its own creasing.
