Burgundy Leather Cafe Racer Jacket, Grey Check Lining

Open the front of this burgundy leather cafe racer jacket and a pale grey check looks back at you, quiet and faintly formal against the dark hide. That check lining runs through the body and the sleeves, with a red label stitched in and black tape trims holding the seams. It is the sort of detail you notice every time the jacket goes on a hanger rather than something the street ever sees.

Build is close and stripped back. A tall stand collar fastens at the throat with a press-stud tab, and the front runs on one straight centre zip, with no knitted rib anywhere on the garment. Twin angled zip pockets sit across the chest, set into a stitched yoke over the shoulders, while the hips carry curved patch pockets finished with a vertical stitched welt. Along the bottom edge, a banded leather hem takes press-stud waist tabs at either side, so the middle can be drawn in or left to sit loose.

It was cleaned before it landed in Doncaster, and there it was gone over seam by seam, with a hardware test running every zip end to end and every stud pressed and released. Sizing is marked L. Wear here is real and worth reading before you commit. The hide has gone soft and creases deeply across the body, the sleeves and the hip pockets; that wrinkling shows in every flat photograph and does not fall out. Colour has rubbed lighter and browner along the shoulder yoke, the panel seams and the pocket edges, so the tone reads mottled, somewhere between burgundy and oxblood, and the lower front panels are glossier where the finish has thinned. Nothing is torn, split or holed, no hardware has gone missing, and the front zip, both chest zips and the waist-tab studs are all present and working. Inside, the lining is clean and intact, with light greying along the front facing edges and a faint mark near the middle.
