About this jacket

Open the front and the colour flips: this burgundy leather cafe racer jacket is lined in gold satin, a bright metallic sheen sitting behind deep red hide. That lining shows whenever the zip is down or a sleeve gets pushed back, and a good deal of the jacket's character lives right there.

A band collar fastens with a snap tab at the throat, and the front runs on a straight centre zip with nothing overlapping it. Twin zipped chest pockets sit on the front panels. No knitted rib appears anywhere on the garment, not at the cuffs and not at the hem; the bottom finishes instead in a deep stitched leather waistband, so the shape holds rather than gathers.

It has been professionally cleaned and conditioned, then measured, graded, photographed, packed and posted from Doncaster, with the zips run end to end and the gold satin checked seam by seam. Sizing is XS, so lay out a jacket you already wear and compare those figures instead of trusting the letter.

Wear on this one is genuine and the photographs do not hide it. Surface creasing runs through the front, the sleeves and the waistband. Both shoulders and the upper chest carry lighter rubbed patches where the colour has faded to a paler reddish tone, edge wear shows along the seams and around the hem band, and under flat lighting the colour reads slightly uneven. Inside, the satin is intact with normal crushing and no splits, while the zips, the collar snap and the pocket flaps are all present, with no tears or holes visible in these frames.

  1. Sourced Bought as a single garment from an estate sale, dealer or private seller, chosen for the condition of the hide rather than the label in the collar.
  2. Cleaned Deep cleaned and conditioned so the leather moves again, without stripping the colour it has settled into.
  3. Repaired Where stitching, hardware or a lining needed work, it was put right before listing: seams restitched by hand, hardware replaced like for like, linings repaired or renewed.
  4. Graded Inspected panel by panel and graded honestly. Anything beyond normal vintage wear is written into the listing.
  5. Photographed Shot under consistent light. The photographs form part of the description, so what you see is what will arrive.
