Burgundy Leather Cafe Racer Jacket, Black Quilted Lining

Unzip the front of this burgundy leather cafe racer jacket and the black quilted lining shows itself straight away, with a red woven label stitched in at the inside chest. The quilting sits close and flat, so it adds a little insulation and a bit of body through the shoulders without turning the jacket into something bulky, and the shell around it is an even dark oxblood with a low sheen.

The collar stands upright rather than folding over, and a single zip runs straight up the centre front to meet it. Seaming does most of the shaping here: curved yokes across the shoulders, then vertical princess seams down the front and back panels. Two welt pockets are cut flat into the hips instead of being patched on top. The hem finishes straight with a vent at centre back, and there is no knitted rib at the waist or cuffs, so it hangs rather than gathering in.

Every jacket gets the same treatment: professionally cleaned and conditioned, then the zip run end to end and seams and lining checked panel by panel before it is photographed, packed and posted from Doncaster. Nothing on this one called for repair. It was then laid flat and measured across chest, waist, shoulder, sleeve and length, and those five numbers sit in the measurements panel on this page rather than in the text. The label reads size L, though the tape matters more than the letter, so hold the figures against a jacket already in your wardrobe.

Wear is genuine and worth reading before you commit. Heavy creasing has set into the chest, the waist and both sleeves, and most of it will not press out. Along the lower front panels and the hem there is light surface scuffing, with a few rubbed patches where the finish has thinned to a paler shade; the close photograph of the hem shows those most clearly. Elsewhere the colour stays even. No holes, splits or failed seams turned up, the lining is clean and intact with its red label still attached, and the front zip is complete and undamaged.

Only one of this jacket sits in the shop, in this size and this condition, and when it sells the page goes dark.
