About this jacket

Snap-fastened epaulettes sit on both shoulders of this burgundy leather biker jacket, held flat by press studs rather than left loose to catch under a bag strap.

Fastening is an asymmetric zip running up the front, topped by a notched collar with press-stud tabs so the lapel can be pinned shut. Twin slanted zip pockets and zipped cuffs carry the same hardware through, a wide leather waistband closes off the hem, and there is no knitted rib anywhere on the jacket. Behind all of it the lining is black.

The work was straightforward: a clean and a feed of conditioner into the hide. Every zip, stud and seam was then run through at our Doncaster office to check nothing sticks or gapes. Sizing you can settle for yourself. The flat measurements are set out separately below, taken across the garment laid flat, so put a jacket you already wear next to those figures before you commit to a size S.

Nothing on the hide is torn, split or cracked, and no repairs have been made to it. Creasing is heavy and soft through the body, the shoulders and the sleeves. Across the upper back, over the shoulder caps and around the pocket zips the surface colour has rubbed back into lighter burnished patches, and that rubbing will not come out. Every zip, press stud and epaulette snap is present and appears to work, the black lining is clean, and the red interior label is intact.

What happened before this was listed

  1. Sourced Bought as a single garment from an estate sale, dealer or private seller, chosen for the condition of the hide rather than the label in the collar.
  2. Cleaned Deep cleaned and conditioned so the leather moves again, without stripping the colour it has settled into.
  3. Repaired Where stitching, hardware or a lining needed work, it was put right before listing: seams restitched by hand, hardware replaced like for like, linings repaired or renewed.
  4. Graded Inspected panel by panel and graded honestly. Anything beyond normal vintage wear is written into the listing.
  5. Photographed Shot under consistent light. The photographs form part of the description, so what you see is what will arrive.
